The Essential Journey
Eight years ago we knew the Lord was calling us out from our hometown, Syracuse, New York but we had no idea what was really ahead. In that period the Lord took us through 3 cities and exposed us to the secret desires of our hearts, as well as, the secret flaws. Little by little the Lord began to extract motives, agendas, and ideas about ministry from us and began to teach us His heart for people.
Though we experienced rejections, being misunderstood, becoming resentful and bitter, it was the Lord's faithful hand and love that delivered us from those things. We began to realize that there were so many people experiencing the same things and how desperately the Lord wanted to minister His acceptance and love to them as well. After several years of character building, healing, and equipping, we knew that a season of preparation had come to a close and that the Lord spoke to us to come home and bring to Syracuse what He had brought to us through the essential journey.
The Lord also began to speak to us concerning a coming move of His Spirit to the upstate New York region and a paradigm shift in the way church is done.
During the last 2 years of our journey, the Lord strategically placed us at the Bridge Christian Fellowship Orlando under Senior Pastor, Bart Malone. In that period of time, it became clear that it was time to go home. With much prayer and counsel we headed home to pursue God's will for this region. Through many confirmations in the Word, prophecies, dreams and visions, the Lord showed us and Bart Malone that we were to become a Bridge church in the Syracuse area.
After several planning meetings and counsel we held our first service on May 10, 2009. The Lord has been assemblying our core team and we are unifying and being strenghthened to do what He has called us to do here. The church has been able to reach out to families in Liverpool and supply backpacks and school supplies to underpriveledged children and we are now hosting a food pantry for any family in need of food. The wonderful people in the church reached out and we impacted about 12 families with Christmas presents for their children this past year.
Again, after assessing the needs of the community and the members of the church, we realized that we required a larger space to worship and serve God. Therefore, in May 2010, we found a larger location in Phoenix, NY to continue our growth. We spent all of June working with our dedicated members to get ready for our Grand Opening in our new location that occurred on July 11, 2010. We appreciate all the members of our church, the community and businesses around the Phoenix area, and all others that supported us during The Bridge Syracuse's development process. We are very excited to provide outreach to this community and we are excited to meet all the visitors that continue to participate!
